“…10,11 Commonly cited reasons include pain, discomfort, difficulty donning the stockings, perceived ineffectiveness, excessive heat, skin irritation, cost and appearance. 6,10,12 Clinicians should ask their patients why the stockings are not being used, because many of these factors are easily amenable by simply changing the stocking material, lowering the degree of compression or providing adequate information and reassurance to patients. Box 4 shows the information that we believe should be given to patients when prescribing graduated compression stockings.…”

“…In the same study, which concerned adult patients who visited their general practitioners (GPs) (independent of the reason for the GP consultation), the symptoms and signs of CVD were found in 48% of the female population and in 37% of the males [5]. Currently, there is still a lack of the good projected and properly performed epidemiological studies dedicated to chronic venous disease that are related to the general unselected population in our country [5][6][7][8][9]. Moreover, the data concerning the potential and clinically implemented treatment methods in Poland need to validated [6][7][8][9].…”
