“…In other studies, Pd(II) and Fe(III) complexes containing ligands derived from 2-(diphenylphosphino)benzaldehyde and ethyl carbazate were synthesized and the antimicrobial studies revealed that the activity of the ligand is enhanced upon complexation [19]. These results are in accordance with works previously published for hydrazides [13][14][15][16].…”

“…These complexes show IC50 values against chronic myelogenous leukemia cell line, K562, much lower than that of cisplatin, which means that they are not very active, while the organic compound 4-MC presented significant activity against k562 cells line. Although the literature reports several examples of increasing the biological activity of hydrazides upon complexation to some metals, in the present case coordination does not seem to be a good strategy [13][14][15][16].…”

“…Therefore, several hydrazide complexes have been synthesized and characterized [22,23]. Some of these compounds exhibit remarkable biological properties, mainly antimycobacterial and antitumoral [24][25][26][27][28][29][30][31][32]. For instance, the effect of copper(II) complexes containing hydrazides and N,N-heterocyclic ligands on the growth of tumor cells was evaluated by our research group.…”

“…Metal complexes of Schiff base ligands possess a variety of applications in the biological, analytical, clinical, and industrial areas . The chemistry of hydrazides and their derivatives are of current interest due to their several biological activities such as antifungal, antibacterial and antitumor . The bioactivity of these ligands may be due to the presence of multi‐coordination centers and having ability to form stable chelates with essential metal ions, which the organisms need in their metabolism.…”
