Complexation and oxidation of Flutamide with Fe 3+ and 1,10-phenanthroline: Few analytical applications

Abstract: A simple and sensitive spectrophotometric method has been proposed for the determination of flutamide (FLD). The method is based on its complexation and oxidation of FLD by Fe 3+ and 1,10-phenanthroline. Two sets of condition were established. In the first set only FLD reacted with Fe 3+ ion, while in the second one FLD was oxidized by Fe 3+ in the presence of 1,10-phenanthroline. The complexation and oxidation methods were monitored spectrophotometrically. All variables affecting the development of the color … Show more

“…In addition to this, a comparison of the proposed sensor with other reported methods (including electrochemical methods) for the detection of utamide has also been carried out, and the results are summarized in Table S1. † [40][41][42][43][44][45] Compared to other electrochemical methods, the proposed method demonstrated higher sensitivity, wide linear response range, lower LOD and very simple electrode fabrication process. Moreover, the proposed sensor was applied in real samples such as in rat brain, kidney and human blood serum samples.…”

“…Chalcones use for the treatment of chronic diseases which involve inflammatory processes, for example, diabetes mellitus [2]. The study of chalcone derivatives has become of much interest in recent years on account of their antibacterial, antiviral activities [3]. Many chalcones based have been recognized in a number of screening assays for modulating important pathways or molecular targets in cancer [4,5].…”
