“…Pediatric CRPS I occurs frequently in girls, around the age of 12 or 13 years, after minor injuries of lower limbs with a predisposition for the foot and ankle. 2 , 5 7 , 12 , 13 Symptoms include severe pain disproportionate to the inciting injury, allodynia, hyperpathia, edema, occasionally paralysis and occasionally involuntary movements as in the adult CRPS I. Psychological or familial backgrounds are associated with the development of pediatric CRPS I.…”

“…Its general incidence in children is reported to be around 1.2/100,000 children 5 to 15 years old, and it occurs much more often in females (73-85%). 2,3 The purpose of this report is to emphasize the possibility, against earlier thoughts, that well-indicated surgery in pediatric CRPS patients may lead to symptom improvement and may not be uniformly predicted to fail. We present an interesting case, which highlights not only the development of a CRPS in the presence of unrecognized skeletal damage but also most importantly its prompt resolution after surgical treatment despite the ongoing CRPS.…”

“…59 Substantial reassuring vaccine safety data have been accumulated from pre-licensure trials as well as postlicensure monitoring and evaluations. 60 Syncope and anaphylaxis are known, 61 The biological mechanisms of CRPS and POTS are not well understood. CRPS is a rare chronic pain disorder that affects one part of the body and is disproportionate to the intensity of any injury or tissue damage.…”
