“…A large longitudinal opening in the vena cava is used in other transplant groups for graft implantation . The described alternative reconstruction involves situations where there is a complex left HV anatomy, such as described by Benetatos et al : two major vein branches (left HV and superficial left HV) and two accessories (accessory left HV) converging at the graft's cutline. A U‐shaped vein patch was fashioned and the authors were able to include all the veins in one wide orifice and obtained sufficient length for an end‐to‐side anastomosis to the IVC.…”
