The air-conditioning (AC) energy use in express hotels is stochastic with the high coupling relationships amongst AC usage, indoor temperature and energy consumption. Such complexities and stochasticity make it hard to facilitate energy saving with clear effect on indoor environment. However, lacking analyses of high-resolution occupants’ energy use makes it difficult to achieve such goals due to the split form of ACs and various thermal comfort of guests in express hotels. Therefore, this study made a serial analysis on the AC energy use in a more detailed scope. The stochastic AC usage, indoor temperature and AC energy consumption were quantified by proposed typical patterns with the cluster method. The stochasticity was described by four typical patterns for each aspect. After the quantifications, the relationships amongst these three aspects were decoupled by the proposed energy use decoupling model. Two data mining methods, namely, random forest method and decision tree method, were employed to achieve this purpose, respectively. With these models, the impacts of each variable on AC energy consumption and explicit relationships of operation rules for management are presented. Strictly limiting set point temperature higher than 23°C is the effective way to save energy for most of AC usage patterns. This study can provide a deeper understanding of AC energy use in express hotels, and benefits energy saving and facility operation in express hotels.

The efficient biomass energy use is a key prerequisite for the implementation of renewable energy development strategies on a regional level. For the highly efficient energy use in the combustion process, it is necessary to properly regulate the process based on its precise description. The paper aim is to evaluate whether dynamic time warping (DTW) methods can be used for this description, as well as for the recognition of the specific operating state of a biomass boiler. For the DTW analysis, operating records of more than 10 hours of a laboratory biomass boiler (P = 25 kW) were used, including an emission analysis, for which the operating modes were intentionally alternated in order to identify the stable and transient states of boiler operation. Based on the results, it can be stated that the identical partial operating sections of the controlled variables can be reliably identified in the operating variables of boiler by means of the DTW method, since its manifestations of operating regulation showed compliance with the given operating state, and it is possible to identify a partial quantity for estimating the total operating boiler state.

The advancement of computer‐ and internet‐based technologies has transformed the nature of services in healthcare by using mobile devices in conjunction with cloud computing. The classical phenomenon of patient–doctor diagnostics is extended to a more robust advanced concept of E‐health, where remote online/offline treatment and diagnostics can be performed. In this article, we propose a framework which incorporates a cloud‐based decision support system for the detection and classification of malignant cells in breast cancer, while using breast cytology images. In the proposed approach, shape‐based features are used for the detection of tumor cells. Furthermore, these features are used for the classification of cells into malignant and benign categories using Naive Bayesian and Artificial Neural Network. Moreover, an important phase addressed in the proposed framework is the grading of the affected cells, which could help in grade level necessary medical procedures for patients during the diagnostic process. For demonstrating the e effectiveness of the proposed approach, experiments are performed on real data sets comprising of patients data, which has been collected from the pathology department of Lady Reading Hospital of Pakistan. Moreover, a cross‐validation technique has been performed for the evaluation of the classification accuracy, which shows performance accuracy of 98% as compared to physical methods used by a pathologist for the detection and classification of the malignant cell. Experimental results show that the proposed approach has significantly improved the detection and classification of the malignant cells in breast cytology images.
