Complete basis for the pentaquark wave function in a group theory approach

Abstract: Permutation groups are applied to analyze the symmetries of pentaquark states. All possible quark configurations of the color, flavor, spin and spatial degrees of freedom are worked out in the language of permutation groups, and the corresponding wave functions are constructed systematically in the form of Yamanouchi basis. The pentaquark spatial wave functions of various symmetries, which are derived in the harmonic-oscillator interaction, are applied as complete bases to evaluate the low-lying light q 4 q pe… Show more

“…The algebraic structure consists of the color and spin-flavor algebras, SU (3) c ⊗ SU (6) sf where SU (6) sf = SU (3) f ⊗ SU (2) s . The permutation symmetries are characterized by the S 3 Young tabloids [3], [21] and [111], and the S 2 Young tabloids [2] and [11]. The total wave function of pentaquark states must be the color-singlet [222] and may be constructed from the states of the baryon and meson clusters,…”

“…A group theory approach to construct the wave functions for baryon and pentaquark states has been described in Refs. [19][20][21][22], and we refer the readers to those works for details. Here, we just present the general Hamiltonian for multiquark systems,…”

“…where ω i are weights being 1 for all the states except for N(939) and ∆(1232) which are set to be 100, M exp and M cal are respectively the experimental and theoretical masses. Listed in Tables I, II Similar model parameters were obtained in the previous work [22]. The parameters fixed in the work are slightly different from the preliminary ones since charm and bottom baryons are included and more accurate method is used for the model fixing.…”
