Competitiveness and Advantages of Camelina sativa on the Market of Oil Crops

Abstract: The article presents the question of the effect of the effectiveness of various elements of cultivation technologies on the competitiveness of Camelina sativa and the profitability of its cultivation on acidic, low-fertility sod-podzolic soils. Fertilizers are one of the fast-acting and effective factors in increasing the yield of Camelina sativa. It was established that introduction of mineral fertilizers had a significant impact on competitiveness of Camelina sativa seeds. Dependence of productivity elements… Show more

“…Scientists assert that the chemical composition and quality of green mass of perennial legumes (leguminous) in the conditions of the Right-Bank Forest-Steppe of Ukraine provide an objective understanding of the researched elements of technology and the influence of weather conditions on them. The analysis of feeds was conducted based on the content of dry matter, crude protein, crude fiber, crude fat, non-nitrogen extractive substances (NNES), and crude ash [Petrichenko and Antipova, 2018; Hryhoriv et al, 2023]. Nutritional value of green fodder in feed units was calculated based on the analysis and digestibility coefficients of the determined components.…”

“…It ensures yield increase as well as extends effective longevity of sown grasses in agrophytocenoses [Kukreja & Meredith, 2011;Woźniak, 2019;Hryhoriv et al, 2022a]. As a result of applying fertilizers that are not balanced in terms of elements, although the yield increases, the botanical composition of plant communities is depleted, and there is also a lack of new types of grasses in the grass stands [Martsinko, 2022;Hryhoriv et al, 2022b].…”

“…Camelina (Camelina sativa (L.) Crantz) [18] and hemp (Cannabis sativa L.) [19] has recently become a matter of interest in agriculture and industry. These underexploited crops are naturally resistant to pests and diseases, require less mineral fertilization and water [20,21] and are considered more sustainable than other cultures [22] satisfying the goals the EU Green Deal for reduced chemical input use by 2030. Moreover, camelina and hemp are multipurpose crops widely used in food, feed, chemical and energy industries.…”
