In this paper, we give the results of investigation of magnetic and catalytic properties of electroless Ni, Ni-P and Ni-P-Re coatings. As a result of magnetic, X-ray and kinetic investigations, the correlation between the dispersion of electroless nickel coatings, their magnetic characteristics and the catalytic activity have been revealed. It was demonstrated that the deposited Pd/ γ-Al2O3 catalysts compared well with platinum catalysts by their activity in relation to breaking the bonds among carbon atoms. The temperature dependence of magnetic properties of electroless nickel coatings is presented. The proposed method allows fabrication of nano-sized elements by UV photolithography.
