“…The antioxidant property of V. unguiculata in this work tallies with Adjei-Fremal [41] in which they also found a correlation between phenolic content with antioxidant power. The antioxidant property of C. maxima extract at 100mg/mL agrees with [42] in which they reported a good antioxidant activity.…”

“…The free radical scavenging activity for 800 μg/ml of flour extract ranged from 17.99% to 33.80% for the seeds, rind, and pulp of pumpkin. The extract (800 μg/ml) obtained from the pulp of C. maxima , seed of C. moschata , pulp of C. moschata , rind of C. moschata showed 29.60%, 25.42%, 23.85%, and 21.58% activity, respectively (Indrianingsih et al, 2019). Vijayraja and Jeyaprakash (2019) evaluated the antioxidant effect of Turbinaria ornata extract and found that 100 μg of extract showed 89.11% of total antioxidant activity in human RBC model.…”

“…Apart from the oil, pumpkin seed has been reported to contain a variety of nutritional compounds. The proximate compositions of C. moschata were mainly carbohydrate (39.51%), followed by fat (28.49%), protein (19.23%), water (7.67%) and ash (5.18%), respectively [ 35 ]. However, as compared to the previous studies using solvent and mechanical pressing, the present study revealed lower yields of C. moschata oil.…”
