Comparison the efficacy of hemorrhage control of Surgiflo Haemostatic Matrix and absorbable gelatin sponge in posterior lumbar surgery

Abstract: Objective:To compare the hemostatic effect of hematostatic agent Surgiflo and absorbable gelatin sponge (AGS) in posterior lumbar surgery. Methods:A total of 60 cases were recruited during August 2016 and June 2017 according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Patients were randomly allocated to the Surgiflo Haemostatic Matrix (SHM) group or the AGS group (AGS) by computer-generated randomization codes. The success rates of hemostasis for 3 minutes and 5 minutes, the time of operation, the amount of intrao… Show more

“…Absorptive gelatin sponge is a semi-synthetic material. Its unique sponge-like structure has protective effects on nerve roots [ 12 ], and its collagen properties have a good effect on preventing adhesions around the dura mater and nerve roots after decompression [ 13 ]. At the same time because of its good hemostatic effect is often used in spinal surgery.…”
