Comparison of the Radio Frequency Interference (RFI) in the Region of Solar Burst Type III Data at Selected CALLISTO Network

Abstract: Compact Astronomical Low-frequency, Low-cost Instrument for Spectroscopy in TransportableObservatories (CALLISTO) is a global network of spectrometer system with the purpose to observe the Sun's activities. There are 25 stations that are used for this purpose. Radio Frequency Interference (RFI) is a major obstacle when performing observation with CALLISTO. We have confirmed at least 2 stations out of 10 stations with a complete overview spectral (OVS) made available to us showed clear detection of these consis… Show more

“…CALLISTO spectrometer is a programmable receiver built to observe or detect solar radio burst that occur at each time and particular location [16]. The main applications of CALLISTO programme are observation of solar radio bursts and Radio Frequency Interference (RFI)-monitoring for astronomical science, education and others [17].…”

“…This range has a very minimum interference at Blein, Switzerland site [53,54]. Selected the data from the 150 MHz till 900 MHz region seems this is the best range with a very minimum of Radio Frequency Interference (RFI) [54,55,56,57,58]. The next section will highlight the detailed analysis of solar flares in an X-ray and radio region to evaluate the distribution of high and low energy [41].…”
