Comparison of the Effects of Long-chain Monounsaturated Fatty Acid Positional Isomers on Lipid Metabolism in 3T3-L1 Cells

Abstract: Introduction Long chain monounsaturated fatty acids LC-MUFAs constitute an important group of fatty acids FAs in dietary lipids. Most of the health foods are rich with approximately 40-60 of the total fatty acid content in LC-MUFAs, particularly cis-9-octadecenoic acid c9-18:1, oleic acid. In plant-based foods, c9-18:1 is the predominant LC-MUFA 1. However, some marine fish and plants belonging to Cruciferae family are reported to have lipids with high content of cis-eicosenoic acid c-20:1 and cis-docosenoic a… Show more

“…TG Quantification Assay. The cellular concentration of triglyceride (TG) was determined using the method of Senarath et al 45 with a few modifications. Briefly, mature adipocytes obtained on the eighth day were rinsed twice with PBS; the cells were scraped into PIPES (Piperazine-N,N′bis(2-ethanesulfonic acid)) buffer with 0.1% Triton X and lysed by sonication on ice.…”
