Comparison of the curve negotiation properties of two different articulated monorail vehicles

Abstract: This paper introduces two types of articulated monorails. The vehicle model of the traditional monorail is set up first, and a genetic algorithm is used to modify the parameters with the experimental data. Then, the two types of articulated monorail vehicle models are set up with the components and parameters of the model of the traditional monorail. By comparing the dynamic properties of the traditional monorail with the two types of articulated monorails, the advantage of the latter is realized. Finally, it … Show more

“…In the previous experiment, the simulated result consists with the experiment data. 32 The simulation and experimental data of vehicles running at 60 km/h speed are compared and shown in Figure 4. As shown in these figures, in addition to the main frequency of 2 Hz, there is another dominant frequency that approaches 6 Hz in the the experiment, but there is no such dominant frequency in the simulation results.…”

“…In the traditional study of railway vehicles, if a single peak frequency of simulation acceleration is consistent with the experiment data, the simulation is successful [14][15][16]. By scaling the amplitude and wavelength of road irregularities and modifying some vehicle parameters, the author [17,18] has made a single peak frequency of the car body simulation acceleration close to the measured value. However, there is a significant error between the scaled road spectrum and the theoretical value.…”
