Comparison of State Legislators with a Control Group on Maslow's “Security-Insecurity” Measure

Abstract: This initial investigation examined how state legislators score on a security-insecurity measure compared with a similar non-political group. Legislators ( n = 30) scored significantly lower ( M = 9.5, σ = 7.5) than the control group of 30 ( M = 17.8, σ = 11.9), which indicates a higher mean level of security for the political group.
