“…There is increased perception of pain when more than one muscle is sampled and in the upper extremities (including genioglossus in this study). Another consideration is the effect of using smaller pediatric concentric needles instead of standard concentric needles, which may lower motor unit action potential (MUAP) amplitude without a significant effect on MUAP duration . With these considerations, it is judicious to initially choose the most appropriate muscle to sample.…”
