Background: Anxiety is a primary concern affecting the prognosis of CABG patients. Relieving anxiety is thus a component of management in patients with CABG. We use two feasible and cost-effective treatment techniques to know the improvement in symptoms of anxiety. Objectives: To evaluate the efficacy of chair aerobics and pranayama on anxiety in patients who underwent CABG. We hypothesized that there would be an improvement in anxiety in CABG patients after receiving the interventions. Materials and Methods: In a total of 21 screened, 16 met eligibility requirements. These were randomized into two, group A and group B. Group A is treated with progressive chair aerobics, and group B with Nadi-sodhana pranayama. Both groups were given standardised cardiac rehabilitation techniques. The duration was fifteen minutes of activity along with phase 1 cardiac rehabilitation. The treatment session was given once a day in the morning. The intervention starts from the post-operative day 3 to post-operative day 7. The anxiety is measured by the tool "hospital anxiety and depression scale". Heart rate is estimated to know the somatic and physiologic components of anxiety. Took all the outcome measures before the surgery and on post-operative day 7 by a blinded outcome assessor. Results: The results showed that the improvement in the p-value of HADS anxiety, depression, and heart rate of both groups is less than 0.05.

Background- Obesity is the leading risk-factor of cardiovascular-diseases, which accounts for 23% of Ischemic Heart-Diseases burden. Several studies are done to correlate the effect of BMI on cardiovascular risk-factors. But only few studies are done to compare the effect of obesity on cardiovascular risk-factors. Therefore, this study is to identify the effect of android & gynoid-type of obesity on CVD risk-factors. Method- Study conducted on 60 obese-adults; Age:20-45 years; BMI 25-29.9kg/m2 (Obese-class Ⅰ WHO-Asian Classification) Demographic and anthropometric data regarding WC, HC, and WHR were recorded. CVD risk-factors by ATP-III definition: High-BP, Low-HDL-C, High-triglycerides, Fasting-glucose. Thus, to observe association of CVD risk-factors between android-obesity & gynoid-obesity. Result- Result has been obtained from SPSS20. Mean-age & Mean-BMI in Android-obesity were (33.06+7.8) (27.33+1.24) and in Gynoid-obesity were (33.9+7.54) (27.26+1.15) respectively. Comparison between two groups found using independent t-tests. There was significant difference of Triglycerides, Fasting-glucose, Blood-pressure & HDL-C between both groups. Triglycerides (M=158.27), Fasting-glucose (M=121.30), Blood-pressure (SBP; M=132.69, DBP; M=89.03) were higher while HDL-C (M=35.10) is lower in Android-obesity than that of Gynoid(M=110.53), (M=95.77), (SBP; M=116.97, DBP; M=75.50) and (M=46.03), having significant difference p<0.05 Conclusion & Clinical-implications- This study concludes that CVD risk-factors are significantly associated with Android-obesity as compared to Gynoid-obesity. Background and Need of the Study: The cotton mill workers are exposed to various hazards in the different department of textile factories. Very few studies are conducted on cotton mill workers to evaluate the occupational-hazards among them. So, the purpose of this study is to determine the effect of cotton dust on PEFR and chest expansion among cotton mill workers. Method: Ethical approval was taken. Study was conducted on 50 adults age group of 18-65 years. 2 Groups: Group-1: Cotton mill workers of Ahmedabad, Group-2: Age‑and gender‑matched Healthy individuals. PEFR of group1 and group2 was measured using Mini-Wright flow-meter. Then chest expansion was measured at 3 levels in both the groups. Result: Mean age, PEFR, chest expansion at axilla, at nipple and at xiphoid level of group 1 were (41.43+10.65) (303.12+134.38) (1.36+0.43) (1.49+0.51) (1.51+0.54) and of group 2 were (39.34+10.76) (456.56+76.38) (2.63+7.10) (3.08+7.01) (4.32+ 6.79) respectively. Comparison was done using Mann-Whitney U-test. Result was found to be significant (p<0.05) between PEFR, Chest expansion at Nipple and Xiphisternum level in both groups, while not significant at Axilla level in both groups. Conclusion and Clinical Implication: PEFR and chest expansion of nipple and xiphisternum level is reduced in cotton mill workers as compared to controls. Regular medication and specific exercise protocol can be made according to one’s need, which can improve the functional capacity of individuals.
