Comparison of particle in cell and fluid models in plasma display panels simulation

Abstract: Abstract:In this paper, a particle in cell model (PIC) was developed. We compare the major characteristics of a single discharge obtained from our PIC model and the fluid model. Fluid model uses different approximations as Local field (LFA). The particle in cell (PIC) model, although its costs in time, still an efficient tool to understand a PDP discharge. Even there is some differences as the delay time and the ionization, the discharge still be correctly described as the energy balance.
