Abstract: Category: Midfoot/Forefoot; Other Introduction/Purpose: Cheilectomy and arthrodesis are the primary surgical treatments of hallux rigidus. While cheilectomy preserves limited motion, that motion can be the source of persistent pain that later requires arthrodesis.
