Comparison of Indoor Air Quality Measurement by Using Direct Detection Apparatus and Standard Methods

Abstract: People usually spend almost 90% of time under various indoor surroundings in their daily lives, and thus the impact of indoor air quality (IAQ) on human health has received much attention recently. In this study, 20 public sites were selected as case studies to compare the difference of indoor air quality measurements. Indoor air quality was first assessed by direct detection apparatus, including CO2, CO, HCHO, TVOCs, PM10, PM2.5, and O3. Based on the results of walk-through detection, indoor air contaminants … Show more

“…IAQ hot-spot locations were screened at each public site through walk-through detection in the first stage, and the measurements of indoor air pollutants were continuously monitored for 24 hour or sampled for lab analysis according to Taiwan EPA standard methods [3]. The detailed procedures of IAQ investigation can be referred to Wang et al [4], and the employed measurement methods and utilized detection apparatus or instruments were summarized in Kung et al [5]. IAQ measurements include CO 2 , CO, HCHO, TVOCs, bacteria, fungi, PM 10 , PM 2.5 , O 3 and temperature, which were conducted during year 2010 and 2011.…”
