Comparison of Hormonal Treatment Kisspeptin with GnRH and hCG on the some Reproductive Performance of Cyprus, Does during Non-Breeding Season

Abstract: Kisspeptins are the peptide product of the Kiss1 gene and act to stimulate GnRH secretion (Gottsch et al., 2004; Messager et al., 2005). Kisspeptins are located in the ovine brain in the arcuate nucleus (ARC) and the dorso-lateral preoptic area (POA) (Estrada et al., 2006; Franceschini et al., 2006; Smith et al., 2007). These ARC cells transmit sex-steroid feedback (both negative and positive) to the GnRH neurons (Smith, 2009). There is a considerable

“…The 1 st parity effect on genes was significantly higher (P<0.05) than 2 nd parity in Cyprus and Iraqi black goats. Our results are in agreement with a previous study in which the litter size of Cyprus goat breeds was recorded as 1.60 [18]. Meanwhile, the results of the present study showed that the litter size of Iraqi black goats in second parity was 1.30±0.020, which is in agreement with a previous study of Juma et al [19], in which a litter size of 1.27±0.14 was recorded in black goats for the treatment with hormones groups in comparison with 1.16±0.16 in a control group in northern Iraq.…”

“…They are cleaved from a single 145 amino acid precursor to peptides ranging from 54 to 10 amino acids in length with equivalent biological activity (10,25,32). Kisspeptins are released from neurons in the hypothalamus and via their receptor (Kiss1r), which is present on GnRH neurons, stimulate GnRH release with a subsequent rise in circulating LH, FSH along with the progesterone in laboratory and livestock animals (5,6,13,30,31). Although GnRH neurons are a critical component of the reproductive axis, Kisspeptin peptides have been identified recently as vital upstream regulators that integrate central and peripheral signals with GnRH release, thereby playing a pivotal role in the control of reproduction (16, 34).…”
