“…Half-dose or half-fluence verteporfin photodynamic therapy (PDT) may contribute to shorten episode duration. 7 12 Oral treatment by mineralocorticoid-receptor (MR) antagonists has also shown beneficial effects. 4 , 13 18 However, the ideal timing for these different interventions still remains to be determined.…”

“…If fluid does not resolve spontaneously after 3 months for acute cases, 67% of the physicians recommend treatment with PDT. A combination of OCT, FA and ICGA is the preferred imaging modality used to determine the spot size for the PDT as reported by 82.4% of the specialists while reduced irradiation time and reduced verteporfin dose have been reported to be equally effective and safe in PDT for treating CSC,8 25 our survey results showed a practice preference in favour of full dose with half-fluence therapy.…”

“…Shiode et al revealed that also halving the PDT irradiation time for treating patients with cCSC has led to similar clinical outcomes to adopting the half-dose PDT regimen [ 91 ]; these results were subsequently confirmed by Liu et al in another study [ 92 ].…”
