The use of intravaginal progestagens followed by pregnant mare's serum gonadotrophin (PMSG) injection to synchronize estrus during the normal breeding season (Menegatos et al, 1995), to induce estrus out of season (Karatzas et al, 1997), and to improve ovulation rate (Greyling & Van Niekerk, 1990;Pendleton et al, 1992;Omontese, 2012) has been reported.
