Comparison of fluoride effects on germination and growth of Zea mays, Glycine max and Sorghum vulgare

Abstract: Fluoride decreased the germination and growth of maize and soybeans and therefore could influence on their production. Conversely, sorghum seems to be resistant to the action of F. © 2015 Society of Chemical Industry.

“…VI is considered a particularly informative index, as it combines germination data with shoot and root length, allowing a comprehensive estimate of the health status of developing seedlings. For this reason, VI is frequently used to determine whether a plant can achieve normal development or is losing vigor (Fina et al 2016). The VI data from the present study further underlines the effectiveness of duckweed extract at a concentration of 0.50% as a plant biostimulant.…”

“…All parameters showed maximum increase at control treatment which is omg/L and with lowest at 15mg/L of treatment. Similar result was obtained in different plants (Chakrabarti et al, 2012;Singh et al, 2013;Fina et al, 2016;Hong et al, 2016;Ahmed et al, 2018) found such reduced results under the negative influence of fluoride in wheat, rice and barely.…”
