Comparison of efficacy in adjuvant chemotherapy regimens in patients with radically resected gastric cancer: a propensity-matched analysis

Abstract: BackgroundWe conducted the retrospective study to compare the efficacy of monotherapies versus two-drug regimens as postoperative chemotherapy for patients with radically resected gastric cancer.ResultAt a median follow-up of 5.3 years, no significant difference in terms of OS was observed between two groups, neither before nor after matching. After matching, median DFS was statistically significant between group A and B (median, 67.5 vs 101.0 months, respectively; hazard ratio [HR], 0.65; 95% CI, 0.45 to 0.95… Show more

“…12 Several studies have sought to evaluate the efficacy and safety of adjuvant chemotherapy (CTx) or chemoradiation therapy (cXRT) among patients with gastric cancer. 12,1619,31,32,33,34,35 The results of these studies have been controversial as well as limited by small sample size and lack of a cohort receiving contemporary chemotherapy regimens. The current study is important, because it reports the outcomes of adjuvant CTx / cXRT among a contemoporary cohort of patients with gastric cancer using one of the largest, multi-institutional experiences on the surgical management of gastric cancer in the United States.…”
