Comparison Between Two Different Types of Microcontroller in Developing Optical Tomography Controller Unit

This paper presents a hardware design, arrangement and measurement for optical tomography where optical tomography uses light sources as the transmitter and photodiodes as the receiver. By using parallel projection for 44 laser transmitters and photodiode receivers at the cross-sectional boundary, the existence of bubbles inside a vertical column pipeline is determined. Octagon modelling with an eight-sided jig is used for projection and the measurement method for this research is shown. An offline technique is used to collect readings from each signal and the image is reconstructed from the data received.

This paper presents the design and development of a Carbon Monoxide (CO) gas detector for vehicles. A gas sensor MQ7 was used to detect if there is any CO gas leakage in a vehicle. To develop a CO Smart Detector that operates systematically, Arduino Uno was used as a microcontroller to control the whole system. The gas detector would automatically alert the user inside the vehicles by triggering a warning using LED, buzzer and LCD display as indicators. An exhaust fan was also used to extract the polluted air from the vehicle. The colour, green, yellow or red would appear on the LED automatically when there is a certain level of CO concentration in the vehicle. Green LED is for safe condition and yellow LED and buzzer with beep sound will be turned on automatically in an alert condition. Finally, red LED with its continuous sound would come on when the MQ7 sensor detects a dangerous level of CO concentration in the vehicle. In addition to the buzzer with its continuous sound to alert users, a fan to extract the air from inside the vehicle could be turned on automatically or manually using a switch if the need arises.

Optical Tomography (OT) is a form of computed tomography using a digital model of the volume of an object by reconstructing an image of the light transmitted and scattered by the object. OT is used mostly as a form of research in medical imaging. OT depends on the reference object being at least partially light transmitting or translucent, so it works best on soft tissue, such as breast and brain tissue. Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) is a new technology for performing high-resolution cross-sectional imaging. OCT is similar to ultrasound imaging, but uses different types of light instead of sound. OCT can provide cross-sectional images of tissue structure on the micrometer scale and in real time. OCT serves as a kind of optical biopsy and is used as a medical diagnostic imaging technology because, unlike conventional histopathology, it does not require the removal and processing of tissue specimens for microscopic examination. The study was carried out to see how the two types of optical imaging and the use of concepts and components used in the system. The light source is used to show different levels of penetration and resolution for both methods is used. The use of an interferometer in optical imaging applications is discussed along with examples of commonly used methods. The optical imaging method contributes significantly to the diversity of tomography systems.
