Comparison between theoretical calculation and measurement of angular spectrum changes from rough surface scattering

Abstract: The coherence theory predicts that the correlations in the fluctuations of a source distribution can cause frequency shifts in the spectrum of the emitted radiation, even when the source is at rest relative to the observer. In this paper the changes in the spectrum of light scattered from a randomly rough metal surface are investigated. The experimental results are compared with the results of rigorous computer simulations.
