“…The results indicated that the expression levels of genes differed significantly between stages of development in common vetch seeds. More than 10,000 unigenes were assembled, and thousands of DEGs were identified in the current study, which is consistent with the results of previous studies with different varieties or tissues of common vetch under different treatments [28,29]. tararicum and Artemisia sphaerocephala [20,26,27], indicating that these genes have significant metabolic activity during seed development.…”

“…High-quality transcripts were obtained from common vetch by PacBio Iso-Seq Single-molecule sequencing offers longer read lengths and higher consensus accuracies, which enable the generation of full-length transcripts and near referencequality genome assemblies, and the accuracy of genome annotation and transcriptome characterization are greatly enhanced, especially for species without reference genomes [23,24]. In the present study, a total of 30,427 full-length transcripts were generated; which is much longer than the previously reported common vetch transcriptome data, such as 772 bp [25], 1124 bp [30] and 921.55 bp [34]. Of these full-length transcripts had a higher annotated percentage than that recognized in previous studies of common vetch (66.10 and 83.48%) [25,30].…”

“…In transgenic tobacco, downregulation of PAL or C4H significantly reduced lignin content [34]. In two Vicia sativa varieties, upregulation of COMT , CCR , and CAD led to increased lignin deposition in the cell walls [35]. Overexpression of F5H increased lignin content in transgenic Arabidopsis , tobacco, and poplar [36].…”
