Comparative Study on the Corrosion Behavior of Ti Metal, Ti-6al-4v and Co-Cr-W Alloys in Artificial Saliva

Abstract: Open circuit potential, potentiodynamic polarization and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) measurements were used to examine the corrosion behavior of Ti, Ti-6Al-4V and CoCrW in artificial saliva containing different NaF concentrations. Also, the effects of saliva pH and immersion time of the studied materials in the test solution were taken into consideration. The corrosion resistance of the three materials was found to decrease with increasing fluoride concentration and increased as pH increased. … Show more
