Comparative study of the effects of two inhibitory suboccipital techniques in non-symptomatic subjects with limited cervical mobility

Abstract: In asymptomatic subjects with limited cervical mobility, pressure maintained suboccipital inhibition manual technique achieves further improvement on cervical range of motion than the technique using the Occipivot cushion.

“…The muscles of the suboccipital triangle, rectus capitis posterior major and obliquus capitis superior and inferior, are often implicated as their hypertrophy and asymmetry can result in the compression of the occipital nerve, leading to the typical pain pattern associated with tension headaches (Figure 5).
