Comparative Study of Gene Expression Profiling Unravels Functions Associated with Pathogenesis of Dengue Infection

Abstract: Background: Dengue virus is a potential source of propagating dengue hemorrhagic fever. This virus leads to dengue hemorrhagic fever/dengue shock syndrome, benign syndrome, and severe syndrome and due to its infection there occurs alterations at multiple levels such as gene expression and the pathway levels. So, it is critical to understand the pathogenesis of dengue infection in terms of gene expression and the associated functions. Methods: For this purpose, here, we have analyzed the temporal gene expr… Show more

“…In the previous work, we have exclusively explored (Warsi et al 2020), but more works have focused on gene expression profiling after DENV infection while different from these works (Ubol et al, 2008;Nascimento et al, 2009;Rothman, 2011;Sun et al, 2013;Datan et al, 2016;Sim and Hibberd, 2016;Simon-Lorière et al, 2017), we have compared the two datasets in terms of expression patterns and the altered functions. We were interested in learning more about the potential connection between DENV and SP infection in humans since the majority of infectious diseases are linked to the immune system, and our aim was to learn more about the infection's effect on the immune system.…”

“…The list of DEGs has been processed for pathway enrichment analysis and understanding (56,57). The KEGG (37) database has been used for calculating enriched pathways, and our own code has been used for pathway and network analysis (58)(59)(60)(61).…”

“…Furthermore, for the top 100 clinically signi cant genes, panther database 52 has been used for the panther protein classi cation. In short we could also say that the individual les have been prepared by using the command line codes (unix) for genes and pathways list preparations based on the relevant needs for the purpose to analyze the enriched pathways or preparing the networks or for panther protein class prediction [53][54][55] . 3.…”
