Comparative Evaluation of Carbon Reinforced Polyetherketone Acetabular Cup using Finite Element Analysis

Abstract: Background: Patients suffering from osteoarthritis undergo surgery to replace hip joints with hip prosthesis implants. Today most acetabular cups of hip prostheses are made of Ultra-High-Molecular-Weight-Polyethylene.
