“…For foreign firms, a better understanding of entrepreneurship and small businesses in Russia may make it possible to develop new strategies for survival in the Russian market and for cooperation with Russian firms. However, although changes in Russian government policy and in the economic environment have led to expectations of increasing entrepreneurial activity (Seawright et al, 2008), entrepreneurship and small businesses in Russia lag behind the leading transitional countries in Eastern Europe (Kihlgren, 2003). Now that entrepreneurship and small businesses in Russia have been of academic interest for over fifteen years, it is time to gather together current knowledge on the phenomenon and to suggest further directions for research.…”
