Abstract:Chromosomal rearrangements are an important process in the evolution of species. It is assumed that these rearrangements occur near repetitive sequences and heterochromatic regions. Avian karyotypes have diverse chromosomal band patterns and have been used as the parameters for phylogenetic studies.
