Comparative analysis on heat transfer of various fin profile using solid works: A systematic review

Abstract: Fins are widely used to enhance the amount of heat transfer by improving the rate of convection heat transfer. Fins are also known as extended surfaces, i.e., extrusions from the object surface. There are numerous kinds of fins, and based on the shape and size, the amount of heat transfer through the fins will differ. Heat transfer depends upon the geometry of the fin and depends upon a number of factors such as the nature of the fin surface, the ambient temperature; the velocity of the air, etc. In this prese… Show more

“…In Figure 7, the line represents the distribution of temperature along the fin, and the fin is at the base of domain red colour represent higher temperature and its equal 300C 0 . Along the fins, there are some dark colours represent the temperature variation on the fin [30][31][32][33][34]. There is a variation of the temperature due to heat dispersion along the fin, and the blue colour in the line represents the lowest temperature, equal to 287.581C 0 in this case.…”

“…The indication of the results that the pin fins heat sink with multiple circular stenosis have lesser pressure drop and high heat transition, difference to regular pin heat sink. This study aims to show the fin shape effect on behavior of heat transfer, the fins are used in a variety of engineering applications such as mechanical and electronic devices [29][30][31][32]. Two shapes of straight aluminum fins have been used, cylindrical and star shape, and maintains the base temperature at 300C.…”

“…The effectiveness of heat and mass transfer control via implementing modified laws in cooling procedures was evaluated by Lyu et al (2022). Heat transfer in an annulus by varying the shape and number of fins was explored by Madhavadas et al (2021). They deduced that the efficiency of the heat exchanger is conclusively dependent on the orientation of fins.…”

“…[1][2][3][4][5] The FDM printers work by deposition of the filament layer by layer. The 3d printer hotends consist of five major components which are, Heat sink, Heat break, Nozzle, Heater block and Heating shaft which are used in the finite element analysis [6][7][8][9][10] The Heat sink plays an important role in dissipating heat from the hotend to the environment and also helps in maintaining a perfect temperature distribution across the heat break for the filament to melt. The Heating shaft is usually made of stainless steel and it acts as a heat source for the hotend, to melt the filament for deposition.…”
