Soft computing has made great strides in recent years, giving cutting-edge methods for observing and managing intricate electronic and mechanical devices. For photovoltaic (PV) systems to maximize energy extraction, Maximum PowerPoint Tracking (MPPT) is essential. However, fluctuating environmental factors and system parameters might have an impact on the effectiveness of MPPT algorithms, resulting in less-than-ideal power generation. So, using soft computing approaches, this research suggests a unique fuzzy logic control and modified mayfly optimization (FLC-MMO) methodology for MPPT monitoring in PV systems. PV system imprecision and nonlinearity are handled by FLC, which offers an adaptable and flexible regulation. Additionally, MMO is used to optimize the FLC's parameters, enhancing its performance and accelerating convergence. MMO was motivated by the foraging behavior of mayflies. The outcomes of the experiments show how successful the suggested strategy is. The suggested MPPT surveillance system produces a greater energy extraction rate as compared to traditional MPPT methods.

For the greater part of a century, the world has moved to sustainable energy production, with increased dependence on renewable energy resources to meet growing energy demand. Reserves of conventional sources are rapidly depleting, with an environmental crisis due to profligate consumption. Distributed generation through renewable sources and microgrids have proved as sustainable alternatives. Microgrids provide versatile topologies with dispersed generation and provision for expansion. However, the nonconventionality of microgrids pose challenges and the conventional control and protection strategy have proven unsuitable. This paper attempts to be a review of microgrids, challenges, and existing protection schemes. The first segment of this paper presents the definition and overview of the microgrid market scenario. The next segment discusses microgrid classification and control strategies, following which challenges, and protection schemes are reviewed. The paper concludes with an overview of relay coordination, optimization algorithms, and an outline of few international microgrid standards and codes.

Güneşten gelen ışınları elektrik enerjisine dönüştüren fotovoltaik (FV) paneller çıkışlarında doğrusal olmayan düşük seviyeli doğru akım (DA) formunda gerilim üretirler. Bu çalışmada, yüksek güçlü uygulamalar için FV panellerin gerilimini regüle etmek amacıyla yükselten tip DA/DA dönüştürücü devresine DSP tabanlı hibrit kontrol yöntemi önerilmiştir. Önerilen bu kontrol yöntemi aynı zamanda değiştir ve gözle maksimum güç noktası izleme (D&G MGNİ) işlevini de içermektedir. Gerilim kontrolü için PI ve akım kontrolü için ortalama kayan kipli (OKK) kontrolcü kullanılmıştır. Önerilen hibrit kontrol yöntemi, D&G MGNİ, PI, OKK kontrolcülerinin arka arkaya seri bağlanmasıyla elde edilmiştir. Önerilen kontrol yöntemi ile FV panel maksimum güç noktasında çalıştırılırken, çıkış gerilimi ve akımı sırasıyla PI ve OKK kontrolcüleri ile kontrol edilmiştir. DA/DA yükselten tip dönüştürücünün giriş kaynağı FV panel olarak modellenmiş ve MATLAB/Simulink benzetim ortamında önerilen hibrit kontrol yöntemi ile kontrol edilmiştir. Önerilen sistem ve kontrolcü için deney düzeneği kurulmuş ve DSP TMS320F28379D kartı vasıtasıyla çıkış gerilimi 200V ve çıkış gücü 400W olan sistemin deneysel sonuçları aktarılmıştır.
