Comparative analysis of the performance of various active queue management techniques to varying wireless network conditions

Abstract: This paper demonstrates the robustness of active queue management techniques to varying load, link capacity and propagation delay in a wireless environment. The performances of four standard controllers used in Transmission Control Protocol/Active Queue Management (TCP/AQM) systems were compared. The active queue management controllers were the Fixed-Parameter Proportional Integral (PI), Random Early Detection (RED), Self-Tuning Regulator (STR) and the Model Predictive Control (MPC). The robustness of the cong… Show more

“…This review compare the algorithms discussed above with each other to analyze the improvement performance of these algorithms. In [55] the comparison have been hold based on varying the propagation delay and the link capacity. While in this study, the AQM schemas are briefly discussed and compared based on several metrics, as shown in Table 2.…”

“…Channel capacity is a parameter of the channel, which can reflect the maximum amount of information that can be transmitted by the channel. At present, the single-channel protocol is the main protocol in the practical application of wireless network, which simplifies the implementation of the protocol, reduces the difficulty of mutual discovery between nodes, and makes the networking more rapid and convenient [5]. However, when the amount of data is very large, many nodes will apply for communication on this channel at the same time, resulting in increased communication competition.…”
