Comparative analysis of optimal power flow in renewable energy sources based microgrids

Abstract: <span lang="EN-US">Adaptation of renewable energy is inevitable. The idea of microgrid offers integration of renewable energy sources with conventional power generation sources. In this research, an operative approach was proposed for microgrids comprising of four different power generation sources. The microgrid is a way that mixes energy locally and empowers the end-users to add useful power to the network. IEEE-14 bus system-based microgrid was developed in MATLAB/Simulink to demonstrate the optimal p… Show more

“…Feasibility and sustainability analysis of a hybrid microgrid in Bangladesh (Aditta Chowdhury) 1335 uninterrupted electricity generation is crucial. Microgrids might solve the problem of off-grid areas if available renewable energy resources can be utilized efficiently and cost-effectively [8]- [11]. Moreover, such a system that depends on renewable energy can release the pressure on fossil fuels and reduce the existing energy scarcity [12], [13].…”

“…General structure of a DC microgrid [18] Despite the apparent advantages, there is a significant research gap regarding DC microgrid implementation in Indonesia. The existing literature [19][25] mainly concentrates on the technical and theoretical aspects while providing limited exploration of the practical application of DC microgrids in the Indonesian archipelago. On the other hand, despite possible regulatory obstacles, microgrids can participate in regional electricity markets through various models, providing additional benefits to their owners [26], which shows that AC microgrids can be adapted for DC microgrids, indicating the potential for leveraging knowledge from AC microgrids to enhance DC microgrid operations [27].…”
