“…The level of SL is marked by a sud den drop in δ 13 C, a sharp increase in the abundance of thermophilic dinocysts of the genus Apectodinium, and a sharp increase in the abundance of calcareous nan noplankton and marine dinocysts against the general fall in the abundance of palynomorphs of land plants, which suggests an increase in the depth of the basin following a global transgression at the beginning of the Eocene and a global PETM episode.
