Comparative Analysis of Low-Cost GNSS OEM Board K706 AND BX316 (Case Study: Bulusidokare Village Sidoarjo Regency)

Abstract: Innovations in GNSS technology have been increased rapidly with significant development in geodetic and navigation types due to its low-cost. One of the advantages of low-cost GNSS is in its price tags, which varies from the geodetic type. This study determines GNSS Tersus BX316 and Comnav K706 Oem Board’s equivalent abilities compared to Stonex S800 GNSS geodetic. The post-processing and precise point positioning were used to determine the activities of RTK. In conclusion, the data obtained by BX316 are close… Show more

“…Another activity related to the analysis of low-cost GNSS receivers has also been carried out by [3] by comparing the accuracy between low-cost GNSS receivers and total stations. This paper aims to test the accuracy of several low-cost GNSS products, such as products from Trimble with the BD982 model, low-cost GNSS U-blox F9 series, namely F9P and F9R and will later be validated with observational data from Comnav with the previous K708 Oem Board model [8] has been tested with GNSS Geodetic S800 from Stonex products [2].…”

“…Table 1 shows the average results of easting, northing, and altitude values as well as the standard deviation value of each receiver. For this experiment, the reference data used is data from the K708 receiver because it has been tested with a geodetic receiver [2]. In this experiment, deformation simulation has been carried out to see the movement of the height (Z position) of an area.…”

“…Besides that, there has been a solution to reduce the cost of GNSS observation through the increasing availability of low-cost GNSS in recent years. In specific applications, low-cost instruments can perform satisfactorily comparable to geodetic instruments [7][8][9]. Although GNSS positioning works well in real-world applications, GNSS signals may suffer from satellite signal outage, jamming, interference, and multipath, especially in urban canyons, tunnels, and/or similar environments, which poses a major challenge for high-accuracy positioning [10].…”

“…Low-cost GNSS has also been used in several studies. Some of them are land measurements, I-boat navigation and various other measurement activities with accuracy reaching the order of centimeters in real-time kinematic measurements [3][4][5][6].…”
