Abstract:Mouse models are central to studying and understanding the genotypic‐to‐phenotypic outcomes of Down syndrome (DS), a complex condition caused by an extra copy of the long arm of human chromosome 21. The recently developed TcMAC21—a transchromosomic mouse strain with comparable gene dosage to human chromosome 21 (Hsa21)—includes more Hsa21 genes than any other model of DS.
