Compact Wide-Beam Circularly Polarized Antenna With Stepped Arc-Shaped Arms for CNSS Application

Abstract: Abstract-A single-feed circularly polarized wide-beam antenna is proposed for Compass Navigation Satellite System (CNSS) application. The antenna consists of four stepped arc-shaped arms, which are applied to generate circularly polarized radiation. To broaden the beamwidth, each arm is split up into two horizontal arc-shaped parts and one vertical part. The proposed antenna is simulated, fabricated and tested. The measured results show that the 10-dB return loss band of the proposed antenna is from 2.37 GHz t… Show more

“…Also, 'O' in the 2-dimensional axial ratio indicates whether the antenna can have an axial ratio below 3 dB in the 2-dimensional region, a 360 • azimuth angle and elevation angle from -60 • to 60 • . The CP antennas in [14][15][16][17][18] have a narrow bandwidth wide-angle axial ratio. Furthermore, the 2-dimensional axial ratio region was rarely studied in [15][16][17][18][19].…”

“…Also, when the wide frequency bandwidth of the satellite communication is employed, a wideband CP antenna with wide axial ratio beamwidth is required [13]. For wide axial ratio performance, some researchers have proposed low profile CP antennas [14][15][16][17][18][19][20]. In [14], a single fed CP antenna with stepped arc-shaped arms was presented.…”
