Compact UWB mimo antenna with band‐notched characteristic

Abstract: A compact UWB-MIMO antenna with WLAN band notched characteristic is presented. UWB coverage is achieved with two closely spaced planar-monopole elements on the top side of the dielectric substrate with a truncated ground-plane etched on the bottom side. Isolation between the antennas is achieved by creating a current path to decouple energy between the radiation elements using a T-shaped ground stub. Notched frequency band between 5.15 and 5.85 GHz is achieved with a parasitic rectangular strip on the bottom s… Show more

“…Moreover, more variations and nulls in the radiation patterns can be seen for frequencies in the higher operation band. [1,3,5,11,13] in terms of isolation structure, number of frequency bands and MIMO antennas, antenna distance, size, and isolation are listed in Table 3. The results show that the proposed antenna with narrow size and satisfying isolation is a good candidate for MIMO system applications.…”

“…Until very recently, some novel high-gain antennas have been presented. [9][10][11][12][13][14][15] For example, in Ref. 11, a wideband antenna for millimeter-waves applications with 10 × 7 array of the planar metamaterial is reported.…”

“…A parasitic element approach provides inductive effect to control mutual coupling at 5.8 GHz . A multimode and multiband MIMO antenna covers 2.4–5.2 GHz and 5.2–5.8 GHz frequency band and produces envelop correlation coefficient (ECC) of 0.15 in each band . The MIMO antenna with optoelectronic oscillator covers 2.4/5.2/5.8 GHz wireless local area network (WLAN) bands .…”
