Compact narrow bandwidth, linearly polarized burst-mode fiber amplifier with high burst energy of 1 mJ

Abstract: We demonstrate a burst-mode operation of a compact high-power, narrow spectral bandwidth, linearly polarized picosecond fiber amplifier with a specially designed modulation mode. A home-made electronic driver was used to directly modulate a distributed Bragg reflector seed source laser in burst-mode operation with single-pulse duration of 200 ps.
