Como a família lida com a orientação sexual e/ou identidade de gênero de suas filhas e filhos: um relato de caso

Abstract

Sexual orientacion and gender identity are still issues that generate lots of pain and suffering, as for whom that identifies with some of those, as for their families. The creation of the group Fortalecendo Amor e Respeito na Diversidade goes against this reality, aiming to provide a welcoming space for the suffering generated on relatives and responsible family member that became aware of the sexual orientacion and gender identity of their daughteirs and sons and, in this way, turning possible that the joys returns to the family dinamic. At first, the reunions were weekly, turning, subsequently, to biweekly; as a method were used psychosocial dynamics that favoured understanding and acceptance of the sexual orientacion and gender identity, and, therefore, in the minimisation of the suffering presented by mothers, fathers and members of the group.
