Community food environment and childhood obesity in a medium‐sized Brazilian city: An approach to school and neighborhood environments

Abstract: ObjectiveWe aimed to analyze the relationship of community food environments with childhood obesity in a medium‐sized Brazilian city.MethodsThis is a cross‐sectional study with 366 schoolchildren aged 8 and 9 years. Children's body mass index (BMI), waist circumference and concentrations of total cholesterol (TC), high cholesterol density lipoprotein (HDL‐c), low cholesterol density lipoprotein (LDL‐c) and triglycerides (TG) were measured.
