Abstract:A range of methods can be used for Community Engagement and Involvement (CEI). The Benin Hub of the National Institute for Health Research Global Health Research Unit on Global Surgery organised a CEI consultation to assess, with patients and nursing staff, the level of understanding of the key concepts, their acceptability, their appreciation of the timeline and expected outcomes of a new randomised controlled trial, which aims to improve outcomes for anaemic patients undergoing major abdominal surgery.
