Communication on Reproductive Health in Immigrant Families

Abstract: Background: Research has shown that parental gender plays a role in reproductive health communication between parents and adolescents. However, limited data exists on the influence of race and ethnicity on such communication. The purpose of this study is to determine if parents are communicating with their teens about sex; and to assess if factors such as age, gender, race, ethnicity, religion, place of birth and length of stay in the US influence communication on these topics.
