Communication—Co-Electrodeposition of Ni/SiO2(CH2)3SH Composite: Modified Guglielmi's Model and Mechanism of Nucleation

Abstract: This work studies the influence of surface modification of silica nanoparticles by mercaptopropyl trimethoxysilane on silica weight percent in Ni coating during electrodeposition. Results showed SiO 2 (CH 2 ) 3 SH particles were embedded in the Ni coating up to 11%. Also, modified Guglielmi's model and mechanicsm of nucleation of Ni-SiO 2 (CH 2 ) 3 SH composite were studied.

“…Moreover, the comparatively higher E HOMO value of TMB indicates that its oxidation is relatively easier and this result is consistent with the low oxidation potential of this compound obtained from CV and DPV experiments. 56 Cytotoxicity analysis and antioxidant activity.-Before exploring the biological applications of the selected compounds, their cytotoxic effect on Hela cancer cell lines was examined through sulforhodamine B (SRB) assay. 69,70 This assay gives a sensitive index of cellular protein as SRB has the ability of binding to the basic amino acids of proteins.…”
