Human-AI co-creativity involves humans and AI collaborating on a shared creative product as partners. In a creative collaboration, communication is an essential component among collaborators. In many existing co-creative systems users can communicate with the AI, usually using buttons or sliders. Typically, the AI in co-creative systems cannot communicate back to humans, limiting their potential to be perceived as partners rather than just a tool. This paper presents a study with 38 participants to explore the impact of two interaction designs, with and without AI-to-human communication, on user engagement, collaborative experience and user perception of a co-creative AI. The study involves user interaction with two prototypes of a co-creative system that contributes sketches as design inspirations during a design task. The results show improved collaborative experience and user engagement with the system incorporating AI-to-human communication. Users perceive co-creative AI as more reliable, personal, and intelligent when the AI communicates to users. The findings can be used to design effective co-creative systems, and the insights can be transferred to other fields involving human-AI interaction and collaboration.CCS Concepts: • Human-centered computing → Empirical studies in interaction design.

When dealing with complex curved geometries and massive datasets linked to linear infrastructures, manual generation and maintenance of related multidisciplinary BIM models and documentation are yet to be fully automated. This research focused on the integration of BIM and computational design into an intuitive approach for the generation of as-built models of mechanised tunnelling projects, leveraging the use of the real-time data collected by TBM. A preliminary study of the parameters was conducted to describe the curved geometry of the tunnel, then their mutual alignment was followed by the identification of additional relevant information. To automate the tunnel's BIM-based modelling process, a system of four coupled algorithms was developed and tested with a sample TBM dataset. The results demonstrate how the adoption of computational design methods drastically enhances the modelling process for infrastructure projects, allowing for the on-demand generation of as-built BIM models, reducing time and errors.

The purpose of this study was to determine the preferred mode of interaction of generation Z. There are four novelties: (1) To understand the percentage of students who prefer social media as a medium of social interaction, (2) To know the percentage of students who prefer face-to-face interaction, (3) To comprehend what medium do they prefer to use when they are discussing their courtship involvement, academic matters, personal issues, interpersonal relational conflicts, sex-related matters, and (4) To know the reasons for students' preference in terms of mode of Interaction. The study used a mixed-method approach, employed explanatory design, and used simple random sampling in choosing the 76 respondents/participants from the Sultan Kudarat State University (SKSU) students. A survey and an interview were conducted to compare face-to-face interaction and social media interaction as the primary mode of interaction. The results showed that 60 students prefer face-to-face interaction over 76 students, with a frequency of 78.94% out of 100%. It is concluded that most of the students prefer face-to-face social interaction rather than social media. This study has an impact on Generation Z, as it serves as a realization of their social activeness in interaction as well as on the community. Also, it will help society understand how Generation Z compares to other generations by being the generation most affected by technology and its rapidly evolving form of communication, as well as the loss of their ability to communicate.
